| Training Please be sure to call (541) 346-3192 to register or to request special accomodations. The van driving class in particular fills up quickly, so call well in advance of the class you'd like to attend! Bloodborne Pathogens: This class is designed for those individuals whose job requires the likelihood of contact with blood or blood products. Generally those individuals have been designated by their supervisor. This class is for both first time persons and for persons needing annual retraining. Instructors: Kay Coots Upcoming Classes: Call to schedule class Confined Space Authorizer Training: This class is designed for those individuals who will authorize entry into spaces designated as "confined spaces." Instructors: Kay Coots Upcoming Classes: None scheduled at this time. Confined Space Entrant and Attendant Training: This class is designed for those individuals who will be entering spaces designated as "confined spaces". Generally, those persons who will be in these spaces have been identified by their supervisors. Class attendance will satisfy OR-OSHA requirements. Instructors: Upcoming Classes: None scheduled at this time. First Aid and CPR Classes: American Red Cross (ARC) First Aid and CPR classes are offered to university personnel only. Those with job assignments requiring training will receive priority. Successful completion of the class results in the issuance of ARC cards. Be sure to arrive on time for the classes. Late arrivals with be asked to sign up for the next scheduled class. Students at the University can receive First Aid and CPR classes at the University Health Center. Lab Safety Training: Instructors: Maeve Sowles Upcoming Classes: Monday, June 23, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. Lead Exposure Prevention Class: This class is for those who work with or have any lead exposure as a result of the workplace. The class is approximately 3 hours long and covers health hazards, hazard recognition, protective and exposure prevention measures, and regulation requirements. Instructors: Upcoming Classes: None scheduled at this time. Radiation Safety Orientation: A 3-hour class intended to provide a basic understanding of radiation safety principles and practices, and to explain University procedures. The class is tailored to those persons who plan to work with radioactive materials. Instructors: Don Elting Upcoming Classes: None scheduled at this time. p.m. Respiratory Protection Training & Retraining: This 1-hour class covers the basics about the Respiratory Protection Program, including responsibilities, program functions, steps to get a respirator, use and care of a respirator, and when special training and equipment is necessary. Before using a respirator on campus, faculty, staff and students must attend the class. Each person receives an appropriate respirator and cartridges during the initial class. Safer Driver Class: Coaching the Experienced Driver classes are offered as a voluntary course. A great way to refresh your driving skills in a 4 hour classroom setting. Supervisor Hazard Communications: This class is designed for supervisors or others who are department designated Hazard Communications Trainers. The class covers a sample training program as well as departmental and University responsibilities to maintain compliance with the Hazard Communication Standard. Instructors: Upcoming Classes: None scheduled at this time. Van Drivers Training This class is required for all persons who will be driving any van on University business.
