Environmental Monitoring

The University of Oregon has several programs to monitor its environmental performance.  These programs are intended to comply with local, state, and federal wastewater, stormwater, air quality and hazardous waste regulations.  As a nationally recognized leader in fostering environmental awareness of university students, the University supports initiatives that create synergies between the campus and the community.

These programs include monitoring activities connected to the following permits or registrations:

National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)
Wastewater Discharge
Hazardous Waste
Underground Injection Control
Air Contaminant Discharge

Responsibility for ensuring compliance with these permits lies with Environmental Health and Safety.  For more details and a description of the University’s efforts to constantly improve its environmental stewardship, please contact the Environmental Health and Safety Director.
